The 519A Remote Retransmission System is designed to eliminate end-to-end coordination in the measurement of envelope delay and frequency response characteristics of a data channel. Through various system configurations, the 519A may be utilized in a manual or automatic mode to either retransmit the response characteristics of the forward line back to the controlling terminal, or alternately, accept a reference signal received from the master terminal to sweep and measure the return channel.
